NTFS for Mac is a driver designed for OS X Leopard to enable the reading and writing of files on volumes formatted with the NTFS file system, commonly used in Windows operating systems. This driver is especially useful for users who have created a Windows partition using BootCamp, as it allows for easy file transfer between the two operating systems. NTFS for Mac utilizes two utilities to facilitate this functionality. Additionally, with NTFS installed, Disk Utility is able to format storage units using the NTFS file system.
